Bulletin – Dec. 6 - Dec. 17
With two school weeks left in 2021, we want to thank all our parents and students for a great year. There have been many challenges, but in every instance our students, teachers, and parents have shown overwhelming resilience and a growth mindset. Congratulations to our Boys’ Basketball team for a great season. They finished 4th in regular season play.
Main Office Hours on 12/8 and 12/15
The main office at SDJH will be closed and the front doors locked until 9:30 AM on Wednesday December 8th and Wednesday December 15th. Our front office staff will be available to assist you starting at 9:30 AM on those days.
Girls’ Basketball Tryouts (Today)
Tryouts for the Girls’ Basketball Team will be held on December 6th, from 3:00 PM – 5:30 PM in the SDJH gym.
SDJH Student Art Show
At South Davis, we have many amazing student artists. Student artwork will be on display December 7th - 10th in the media center. The media center will be open during parent teacher conferences on December 8th for community members to visit the display.
Parent Teacher Conferences (2 formats, December 8th)
Our 2nd term Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on December 8th. Please note the following formats for that evening:
- Virtual Conferences – 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM
- You can sign up for 8-minute appointments starting on December 1st at 9:00 AM and ending on December 7th at 12:00 PM.
- Appointment schedules can be made through your myDSD guardian account.
- Teachers will email parents and students the conference links.
- In-person Conferences – 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
- Open house format
- Teachers will be in their classrooms.
Lockers
With the cold weather setting in, we have seen an increase in requests for lockers to store coats and jackets. If your student is interested in getting a locker, the window is now open through January 18th, 2022. Students obtain a locker assignment by paying the optional fee through myDSD. Locker information will be available on your student’s myDSD account.
Attendance
We have noticed an increase in absences and students arriving late to class. We would like to encourage all students to be in class and arrive on time. Being absent or arriving late results in missed instruction and educational opportunities. We want our students to be successful and maximize their potential at SDJH.
